What does Homezie charge for its services?

Individuals using Homezie technology app and services never pay anything to Homezie.

How soon will a Homezie representative contact me after I submit my request to secure a Homezie account?

If your request is made during business hours up to 3pm EST, a Homezie representative will contact you the same day. After 3pm EST, you will be contacted the following morning, except if that request is made on a Friday or Saturday, you will be contacted Monday AM. Contact will be made by your stated preferred method first (text, email, phone) and then followed-up with the alternatives. If after 3 attempts to reach you, you have not responded, Homezie considers you to be non-responsive and not interested at this time. We will conduct a periodic check in with you.

What does Homezie do with personal data provided?

Does Homezie own any real estate, moving or other types of service companies that it offers as options to consumers?

No. Homezie is 100% independent and objective in its vetting of its network of core service providers including real estate agents, lenders and household goods moving companies.

What is Homezie’s technology app?

It is a no-cost, personal, on-line application that helps you manage all of your real estate (buy, sell, rent, finance) and household goods moving process in one spot. Homezie provides convenience and choice to help simplify the entire moving process. Some of the features and benefits include:

educational and self-help tips, tools, checklists, timelines, and other resources for changing homes to simplify the moving process. A few examples: area information, schools, cost-of-living resources, how to prepare your home for sale; a household goods moving checklist, how to make to make an offer to purchase a home
an assigned and experienced Homezie consultant (no call centers) who is your objective advocate to answer questions and provide you with guidance and options that will save you time and money
access to Homezie’s independent network of vetted top suppliers (real estate agent, moving companies, lenders, etc.) where your needs with be matched with best network supplier choices.

What criteria is used to select agents?

First, our approved network agents are licensed and in good-standing with the state; they are full-time real estate professionals with a minimum of 5 years in the business, associated with one of the top brokerage firms, have a business track record of a representative number of completed transactions in the immediate community and price range where you will be purchasing a home, have agreed to our client service expectations and in most cases must be a certified Realtor.

Secondly, each home buying and selling situation is different. When you are ready to buy or sell, Homezie gathers information and conducts a personal interview with you to confirm your selling or buying area, price range, time frame and other personal needs. Homezie then applies our algorithm, interviews final top choice agents in our data base and recommends typically two (2) who are top producers in (a) the immediate area that you are selling in or looking to buy in (b) your home sale or purchase price range and (c) best fits your needs in all other areas.

What if I do not like the agent Homezie assigns to me?

Homezie guarantees satisfaction. Homezie agents have signed a service level agreement. You are under no obligation to utilize a Homezie recommended agent, even if you have already entered into a listing agreement or started your home finding process. You advise your Homezie consultant of your dissatisfaction, and we will either (1) correct the situation with that Homezie agent to your satisfaction or (2) we will re-assign you to a different agent or (3) you can opt out of working with Homezie and its network of agents to buy or sell.

If I have/know a real estate agent that I would like to consider assisting me in buying or selling a home, what do I do?

Step 1: Contact Homezie first! To ensure you qualify for maximum benefits from Homezie, you should not engage with that agent until you have spoken with Homezie and understand your options.

Step 2: Homezie will advise you if that agent is a member of its approved network. If yes, then Homezie will contact that agent and discuss the needed agreements for your advantage. If your agent is not a member of Homezie’s approved network, Homezie will contact and interview that agent. If their qualifications meet Homezie criteria and agreement is secured, the transaction can move forward.

NOTE: Should your agent not meet our qualifications or elect not to accept needed agreements, please know you always have the option to still use that agent, however, you may forfeit your eligibility for certain benefits provided by Homezie.

If I am already working with a real estate agent, should I still sign up?

Yes. You will still have access to other services and benefits on this move and future home related needs.

Is a real estate rebate, discount or reward guaranteed when I buy or sell with Homezie?

Yes, provided all terms and conditions are met. Secure a no-cost, no-obligation account with Homezie and talk with a Homezie representative to get the details and ask any other questions you have about Homezie buy, sell or other services.

Can I secure a Homezie buy or sell reward if I am also registered in another real estate rebate program?

No. You can only participate in one rebate or reward-type program per buy or sell transaction.

Are there any hidden costs or fees that would reduce the real estate reward amount paid to me?

When should I call a moving company?

The earlier, the better. It is wise to commit to a moving company at least four to six weeks prior to your move, if at all possible. The more lead time you can give, the more likely the moving company will be able to meet your preferred pickup and delivery time frame.

Do I need an estimate?

Yes, it is recommended. And, to get the most accurate estimate it should be after the moving company has conducted either a physical or video survey of the items that you want to move, what you will pack, and what special or third-party services (crating, disassembly/reassembly) that are required. Also, when you actually want to move can also impact your cost. Any estimate should be delivered to you in writing so that you can review any other terms and conditions that are required.

Do I have to be present for the pre-move survey?

If the moving company conducts a physical survey, ideally yes. If at all possible, at least one person from your immediate family should be present to answer the surveyor’s questions and to make sure your own questions and concerns are addressed. If you cannot be present, please select a representative who is familiar with your moving plans to act on your behalf. If the mover is doing a video survey, you are part of that process and you must follow their instructions to secure an accurate survey.

What is a binding estimate?

A binding estimate or binding cost of service specifies in advance the precise cost of the move based on the services requested or deemed necessary at the time of the estimate. If additional services are requested or required at either origin or destination (such as a “shuttle” to or from a location to which a full-size van cannot operate directly), the total cost will increase. Binding estimates are typically valid for the time period specified, typically up to 60 days.

When is the best time to move?

If there is a choice, most moving companies suggest you select a time other than summer, the end of the month or the end-of-year holidays. The heaviest demands are placed on vans, equipment, and personnel during these periods. And, if you can move during the week, this is also usually better to secure dates with the mover.

What household goods moving services are offered?

Options are numerous. You need to decide what level of services you want and Homezie will match you to the best option.

How can I reduce the cost of moving?

Do not move what you do not need in your new home. Sell, donate, or toss.
Do not move what you can replace cheaper in the new location than the cost of moving it. Sell, donate, or toss.
Bring all items out of crawl spaces, attics, etc. This will potentially save you additional service costs if you are not doing your own packing and loading.
Self-pack all of your non-breakable “soft goods.” This will save you labor costs for packing.

Do my appliances need special attention?

Most refrigerators, washers, dryers, and other electrical or mechanical appliances require special servicing to ensure safe transportation. Any moving parts such as motors on major appliances, washer drums, and icemakers should be securely fastened for shipment. Gas appliances need to be serviced and disconnected prior to your move.

It is the owner’s responsibility to see that appliances are serviced for shipment before they are loaded on the van. Upon request and for an additional charge, a moving company will perform this service, using either its own qualified personnel or an authorized service company

What type of home loans does Homezie’s lenders offer?

Homezie’s lenders offer a full range of loan products including but not limited to a range of conventional, FHA and VA

When should I talk to a lender?

Homezie recommends that you talk to at least two (2) lenders when you first start to think about buying a new home. You need to know the best type of loan for your situation, how much of a loan you can qualify for and what your options are for down payment and closing costs. This will in turn tell you if you are in a position to move forward to buy a home and the amount you can afford to pay. This process is called a pre-qualification. You want one or more lender pre-qualifications in hand before you start to seriously look at homes with a Homezie top producing real estate agent.

Who are Homezie network lenders?

Homezie utilizes vetted lenders who have a national footprint, offer a wide selection of mortgage products, deliver services on-line or by telephone versus requiring in-person meetings, have streamlined processes and consistently have competitive interest rates, lender fees and give high quality service to Homezie clients.

What are typical lender or loan fees?

Lender and loan fees will vary between lenders and between mortgage products, however, most typically range from 1% to 3% of the mortgage amount you are seeking. All lenders must itemize these fees so that you are able to do a comparison and understand what you are paying. In some cases, you may be able to roll some or all of these fees into your loan amount and reduce the cash you have at time of closing. Examples of lender fees include application fee, credit report, appraisal fee, origin fee, and discount points (this is the cost to lower your interest rate if you so choose).

What is the difference between a pre-qualification and a loan approval?

There is often not a lot of difference between pre-approval and pre-qualification. Generally, for a pre-qualification you will provide an overview of your financial history and situation to the lender, including income, assets, debts. The lender will run a credit report and review this information to give provide you with an estimate of what you would qualify for. This process may or may not require you to provide any documentation. Mortgage pre-approval is similar, but it usually requires documentation and verification of your income, assets, and debts, and the lender will provide you with an exact mortgage amount they will lend.

What are the typical documents required by a lender?

Homezie lenders are committed to making the process as simple as possible, however, they do need to get a complete and accurate view of your financial situation. The typical documents include, but are not limited to:

Photo ID
Credit history
Pay stubs, W-2s or other proof of income
Bank statements and other assets
Credit cards, car loans, school loans and other debts
Down payment gift letter (s)
Tax returns
